For the last decade, Mr. Schmitt has held executive management roles in numerous information technology companies. Before SureLogic, he was CEO of SimMedical, Director of Business Development of Perot Systems Government Services, Senior VP and CIO of Crown Castle International, VP of Information Technology of FORE Systems and Director and CIO of the City of Pittsburgh. Mr. Schmitt serves on numerous advisory boards and is currently Managing Partner of the Penn-Florida Group LLC, and Chairman of the Blue Hammock Corporation.

Mr. Schmitt started his career as a software engineer working in the defense and financial services industries, and his career reflects a lifelong interest in the practical application of technology. He received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Robert Morris University and a Master's degree in Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
